Y Theatre Arts

We build theatre by breaking boundaries between writers, actors, directors, designers, dancers and musicians, bringing them together to create authentic, innovative pieces for performance.

Y Theatre Arts offers  youth theatre for WI students, twice a year at Washington Irving School, now in its 16th year.  This is a grant funded program, made possible by The Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, St Faith's House Foundation, Miles Hodsdon Vernon Foundation, Kids Club of Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, and the Y.   Y Theater also offers week-long theater summer camps in August.  Please visit our Summer Programs page for camp information.  For more information about Y Theatre Arts, contact Barbara Turk, VP Marketing and Community Development 914.418.5562 or by email.

We just had a fun fall production on December 6, an Original Musical Revue:  Life in the Woods, written and directed by Nancy Seabold.  22 students acted, sang and danced in the production. Choreography by Brianna Luciano of Y Dance in Tarrytown.

NEXT Y THEATER AT WI PERFORMANCE:  DEAR EDWINA, JR., Director Sione Owen, Musical Director, Shawn Amdur.  Funding for this spring 2019 production, that is open and free to all 4th and 5th grade students, is provided by The Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, Miles Hodsdon Vernon Foundation, The Kids Club of TT/SH, and the Y.
