November is another busy month!

November at the Y is another busy month, with Black Friday specials (and Grey Saturday & Sunday specials!) and Y Giving Week coming up the week after Thanksgiving.

We wish all our members, donors and friends a happy Thanksgiving.  This year we've put up a "What I'm Thankful for..." tree on the Member Board, and hope you will contribute a message of thanksgiving to the tree.

Y Halloween Masquerade Ball is a HUGE Success!

Almost 200 people attended the 10th Annual Y Halloween Masquerade Ball on September 28! This year we honored Phelps Hospital and Daniel J Blum, CEO & President, with the Laurance S Rockefeller award. Phelps, like the Y, emphasizes community service and outreach, and we also share a mission with Phelps: to enhance the health & wellness of everyone we serve, regardless of ability to pay.

Preventing Falls as We Age

Each year on the first day of fall, the Y joins national organizations from the Falls Free Coalition and the National Council on Aging (NCOA) for National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. On Saturday, September 22, the Family Y at Tarrytown is asking older adults, caregivers, family members and health care professionals in the River Towns to join us in raising awareness to help prevent falls among older adults.

Andrea Stewart Cousins visits our Y

Andrea Stewart Cousins toured the new Fitness Center and Y Early Learning Center.  She spoke with some of our regular members, and she spent time in our daycare classrooms. It was a great visit and we were honored to have her in our facility.

Rockin' Hood Performance at Mason Building, Tarrytown

We finished two amazing weeks of Rockin Hood Theater Camp.  First week saw a take off on Star Wars, second week another fun take-off on Harry Potter!  The Rockin' Hood campers were so enthusiastic and dedicated.  Our new musical director, Nancy Seabold created musical magic with the performers.  Many thanks to our camper actors, parents and wonderful director, David Neilsen for a great summer of theater comedy.  Thanks also to the Trustees of Solomon's Lodge for the use of the great hall for our rehearsals and performances.

Touring Tuesdays in July & August!

All summer long, come to the Y on a Tuesday, take a tour and check out our Y Early Learning Center where we provide daycare and camp to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, as well as all our health & wellness program areas.  Try our state of the art Fitness Center, check out a Group Exercise class, swim in the pool, and every once in awhile, watch a dance class!
