Dear Y Member:

The management of the Family YMCA at Tarrytown has been hard at work making plans to reopen! There are new policies and procedures that we are putting into place to ensure the safety of our members and employees.  We are eager to have you back at the Y!  Some new features include Plexiglas barriers at our Member Service Desk, floor directional markers for social distancing; and the rearrangement of our fitness center's exercise equipment to make sure you are safe during your workout.  Now all we need is approval from Governor Cuomo to reopen.  We had hoped that this would be happening as soon as Westchester County was in Phase 4 but as many are aware fitness centers and gyms have not been given approval to date.

So in the interim we will continue to provide zoom fitness classes for our members and childcare for our families and those of essential workers.  We have been providing financial assistance for over half our residents who are unable to pay rent (as well as other necessary support for them), reaching out with wellness calls for our seniors and other most needy members.

Just as we have in past crises, the Y is still here for our community.  The direction of our mission has not changed; we have never turned anyone away based on their ability to pay and during the last two years gave out over $800,000 in aid to the families we serve. In order to be able to reopen and continue our mission when the crisis is over, we are asking for all of our members’ support.  Many do not realize that we are a charitable organization that does not receive any financial assistance from the national Y so member contributions are crucial to our organization.  To those who have graciously continued to support us during this crisis; we THANK YOU!

Thank you for being a part of our Y Family; we hope that you stay safe during this crisis.
