Y CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Dear Members and Supporters of our YMCA,
Governor Cuomo announced earlier today that all gyms must close until further notice as of 8 pm tonight as part of a tristate effort to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Although, we consider ourselves more than a “gym”, we fall under his definition and must comply with his mandate.
Please note our Y Early Learning Center will remain open during this time as it is a necessary service to the families we serve.
We will update you as soon as we are allowed to reopen.
In the interim, please take advantage of these two FREE resources to stay fit:
- MOSSA Move https://www.mossa.net/mossa-move/
Given that the Y is focused on healthy living, youth development and social responsibility, we want to also offer reminders of actions you can take for your personal and family well-being: Committing to social distancing, frequently using effective hand-washing techniques, sleeping 7-9 hours nightly, exercising daily, meditating, eating healthy and immunity-boosting foods, and using anxious energy for positive endeavors. This can be a stressful time for many. Self-care is an integral part of overall health, happiness and success. Because this situation will continue to evolve rapidly, it is important that you take care of yourselves and your family.
Each of us is an important piece of our larger community.
The Y has changed lives for the better for 117 years. We expect to continue to do so, regardless of the chal- lenges. We need to come back, and come back strong- financially, programmatically, and personally. We ask for your ongoing support of our efforts during this trying time. Please visit our website at www.ymcatarrytown.org for up-to-date information, and visit our Facebook page.
Our hearts go out to all who are immediately affected by the COVID-19 and we offer our continued prayers for the health and well-being of all. Thank you for being a part of our Y family. We'll get through this together.

social responsibility
The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a global nonprofit. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.
