THE Y HELPS TO SUPPORT ABBOTT HOUSE KIDS - WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Dear Y Member:

I am writing to you about a very special project the Y is initiating as we are trying to make the lives of the children of Abbott House just a little bit brighter.   Abbott House cares for refugee children who have come to the US without their parents. They provide temporary comprehensive residential care for children while they work towards reuniting them with a family member or sponsor. They currently have over 50 children/teens who are in need of basic supplies as they arrive with just the clothes on their back.

On Saturday, May 4th, seven refugee children under the age of twelve got to enjoy for the very first time what it's like to be a kid at our annual Healthy Kids Day, as Y guests. They went on rides, played games, got their faces painted and won prizes. I wish you could have seen their smiles!  In June, we are holding a pool/dance/pizza & ice cream party for them and are expecting over 40 children.   Now we need your help in our efforts to provide necessary everyday items for these children/teenagers.

PLEASE JOIN THE FAMILY YMCA AT TARRYTOWN IN OUR EFFORTS TO SUPPORT
