YEAR END GIVING!

December 2020

Dear Friend of the Y:

There is little doubt that 2020 will be a year we talk about with our children and grandchildren for many years to come. Now, as we look to flip the page of the calendar to a year of hope and recovery, I can’t help but reflect on how 2020 and the pandemic has affected our community and your YMCA.  Now more than ever we need your help.  In thinking about your year-end charitable donations please consider putting the Family YMCA at Tarrytown at the top of your list and donate here

Like many other organizations, the Y suffered a severe blow to its operating model when our facilities closed in March. But we’ve been quick to act and adapt to make sure the emerging and increasing needs of our community are being met. Childcare for essential workers, new and evolving education models, and the isolation of vulnerable populations were all new crises in our community. The Y stepped up to fill these gaps, by expanding childcare programs for essential workers, developing solutions for parents whose children were in hybrid learning models, and developing a shepherding program to comfort folks who are isolated in their homes. And we did all of this while being forced to reduce our workforce, minimize expenses, and living in an age of complete uncertainty.

Despite these hardships, the Family YMCA at Tarrytown continues to serve our community.  As many are aware we never turn anyone away based on their ability to pay.  Since 2018 we have given out over $900,000 to the adults and children we serve.  We count on the support of friends like you to help us continue our mission.  Please consider making a year-end donation.

Best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year from our Y Family to yours!

Sincerely,

Lesa Dalton
