SUPPORT YOUR Y SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE HELPING OTHERS!

During COVID the Y has provided much-needed childcare for our families as well as the children of first responders and other medical and essential workers, many of who do not have the resources for childcare fees.  Our Y launched a new Virtual Platform in 2020 so that many of our members, especially seniors are able to connect with their friends while taking classes with their favorite fitness instructors via zoom. There are prerecorded classes on our platform for when you just can't get there in time! While we are no longer at 62 Main Street, our mission is unchanged and we have not wavered in our efforts to support our community.

We are currently offering childcare at our temporary location at 116 Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow.  We are excited to announce that we will be opening a brand new Y Early Learning Center at the Rivertown Plaza in winter 2023!  This new site has ample parking, is steps away from the Tarrytown Metro North Station and is walkable to both Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.    As well we offer youth Dance and Cheer programs to keep our children healthy and active.  We provide care for school-age children in Tarrytown and  Briarcliff School Districts at Morse, WI and Todd Elementary school.   If your district is interested in our services, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help!

The direction of our mission has not changed; we have never turned anyone away based on their ability to pay and between 2018 and today we have given out almost $1 Million in aid to the families we serve. In order to be able to reopen and continue our mission when the crisis is over, we are asking for all of our members’ support.  We hope that you will continue to support us in any way that is feasible for you.

Why does the Family Y at Tarrytown have the Annual Campaign?

The Y’s financial assistance program is 100% funded by donations. The financial investment in our organization from our supporters, staff, and community members ensures that our programs and services are open to all, regardless of the ability to pay.

Marco at the Y today
“The Y swimming program has literally saved my son’s life. When he was 18 months old, we were at a pool with friends & all of a sudden I heard "Mommy he's under water."  Marco had slipped going into the pool & there were his feet, sticking up from under the water. We rescued him from the water and I rushed Marco to the ER. After keeping Marco for observation for an hour or more, the doctor released him to my grateful arms. I mentioned that Marco had taken swim lessons at the Y since he was 7 ½ months old and as a result is always so calm in the water.  The doctor responded, "the swim lessons most likely saved his life; he knows more than you think. His lungs were totally clear."  I will NEVER forget that moment of fear when I saw him upside down in the pool, nor my continued gratitude to the Y.  Without the financial aid we receive, Marco could not take the lessons, and without the lessons, Marco may not have survived the pool accident.”  -Y Swimming Parent, November 2017

US... IS A PROMISE Every day, the Y strengthens communities for kids, adults, seniors and families with programs that protect, teach, connect, heal, nourish and encourage. It’s how we help communities and the “us” who live in them achieve our individual and collective promise. We give away more than $400,000 in programs and services, thanks to your continued help.

Providing financial support to those in need and focusing on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, are what the Y stands for.  We see the results of these good works everyday in the faces of those who participate. A contribution in any amount would ensure these programs are available to everyone who needs them.  Your donation helps us continue our mission.

Your tax-deductible donation will help to ensure that the Y, a charitable, non-profit 501(c)3 organization, will continue to offer these vital community programs again next year.
